Haken

HAKEN are among the most distinctive voices in modern progressive metal. Formed in the UK, the band combines technical sophistication with emotional depth, complex song structures and a sound that blends progressive metal, alternative metal and art-rock influences into a unique musical language. Over the years, HAKEN have built up an international fanbase and, with their detailed yet powerful approach, have secured a firm place in the progressive music scene.

The current line-up comprises Ross Jennings, Richard Henshall, Pete Jones and Ray Hearne. With albums such as ‘Fauna’, HAKEN have demonstrated their ability to combine sophisticated songwriting with an immediate emotional impact. The worldwide “An Evening With” tour once again put the 2024 album in the spotlight and showcased the band in top live form – documented in the release “Liveforms: An Evening With Haken”.

The single “In A Fever Dream” marks the start of a new phase for HAKEN. For the first time, the band collaborated with a producer, bringing George Lever on board, who has previously worked with Loathe and Sleep Token, among others. Bassist Bryan Beller, known for his work with The Aristocrats, Dethklok and Joe Satriani, also contributed. The result showcases HAKEN from an emotionally direct angle, without abandoning the band’s progressive signature sound.

Combining technical precision, atmospheric intensity and a modern metal aesthetic, HAKEN remain a band that is constantly evolving – whilst consistently upholding their high standards of musical depth, dynamism and expression.
