About Alexis Ffrench
Alexis Ffrench is one of the most internationally successful figures of a new generation of contemporary classical music. The British pianist and composer describes his approach as “Classical Soul”—an open fusion of modern classical music, emotional piano playing, soul, and cinematic soundscapes.
With more than one billion streams across his catalog, several number-one albums, and gold certification in the U.S. for his single “Bluebird,” Alexis Ffrench has reached an audience far beyond the confines of classical concert halls. Among his notable performances are the Coronation Concert for King Charles III and a televised solo performance at Westminster Abbey.
Ffrench does not view classical music as a closed-off genre. His compositions draw on influences from pop, soul, and film music, translating them into a sound that is both immediately accessible and uniquely his own. In addition to his work as an artist, Alexis Ffrench is deeply committed to music education and serves as the first Artistic Director of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music in its more than 130-year history.
With the album 24, Alexis Ffrench consistently continues on this path. Twenty-four compositions musically trace the course of an entire day—from the first moments of the morning until late into the night. The album was recorded at Studio Miraval in Provence and expands Ffrench’s piano compositions to include strings, harp, double bass, and subtle percussion. Music as a companion to everyday life is now, more than ever, at the heart of his work.
