With ‘Little Bit Crazy’, the renowned American rock band Blackberry Smoke are releasing their second song from the eagerly awaited album ‘Be Right Here’, which will be released on 16th February via 3 Legged Records/Thirty Tigers. But that's not all: Blackberry Smoke will be returning to German stages next year after their anniversary tour (2022). Four dates in Hanover (18.09.2024, Capitol), Berlin (24.09.2024, Columbiahalle), Munich (26.09.2024, TonHalle) and Cologne (29.09.2024, E-Werk) have been confirmed and will be on presale from 12th October 2023.
About ‘Little Bit Crazy’ (written by lead singer Charlie Starr and his long-time collaborator Travis Meadows), Starr says, ‘It's a rock “n” roll song about a guy and the girl who could be his undoing.’ The official music video can be viewed here. Ahead of the release, the lead single ‘Dig A Hole’ was recently released, about which American Songwriter says that ‘it highlights the band's trademark blend of blues, Southern rock and Americana that has helped them build a successful career that has spanned more than two decades,’ while Whiskey Riff notes that their ‘distinctive Southern rock sound and top-notch songwriting always come through’ and Entertainment Focus speaks of ‘a tantalising taste of the musical journey that awaits listeners.
The band is on an international headlining tour until next year to celebrate their new music. Newly confirmed stops outside of Germany include Ovens Auditorium in Charlotte, Newport Music Hall in Columbus, Murat Theatre at Old National Centre in Indianapolis, Ogden Theatre in Denver, Uptown Theatre in Kansas City and The Hall in Little Rock, as well as shows in the UK, Denmark, France, Sweden, Italy and other countries.
Produced by Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell), ‘Be Right Here’ is a timely reminder to be present and live authentically. On the ten tracks - a collection of their signature rock ‘n’ roll anthems, Americana ballads and country rock jams - the band celebrates the simple joys of life, the fleeting moments and the little bits of happiness they find along the way.
The album was recorded at the historic RCA Studio A in Nashville and at Cobb's Georgia Mae in Savannah. In addition to the band - Charlie Starr (vocals, guitar), Richard Turner (bass, vocals), Brit Turner (drums), Paul Jackson (guitar, vocals) and Brandon Still (keyboards) - guest musicians include Preston Holcomb (drums), Benji Shanks (guitar) and The Black Bettys. Of the recording process, Starr says: ‘We always record live together, but this time we had all our amps and drums and everything in the same room. It's just as natural and real as possible. The last album was also very raw, but with this album I remember several moments where I said, ‘I think we should do this again,’ and Dave said, ‘No, leave it like this. It's magical like this‘.’
