About G.Love
G. Love & Special Sauce is a genre-defying trio blending hip-hop, blues, funk, and soul since 1993. Formed in Philadelphia, the group features Garrett Dutton (aka G. Love) on vocals and guitar, Jeffrey Clemens on drums, and Jim Prescott on bass. Their 1994 self-titled debut album featured the alternative hit Cold Beverage, gaining traction on MTV and radio with its laid-back vibe and unique vocal delivery. Often described as “slacker blues” and “alternative hip-hop,” the band has released acclaimed records like Coast to Coast Motel, Yeah, It’s That Easy, The Juice (GRAMMY-nominated), and Sugar – the latter marking a reunion of the original lineup. Known for dynamic live shows and genre fluidity, G. Love & Special Sauce have played major festivals like Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza, with G. Love also collaborating frequently with Jack Johnson and others in the alternative scene.
