About Ichika Nito

He is regarded as Japan's best guitarist and a child prodigy on his instrument. Ichika Nito from Tokyo was voted the ‘hottest guitarist in the world right now’ by the British ‘Total Guitar Magazine’ and ranked 8th among the ‘best guitarists of all time’. He inspires almost 2.5 million people via his YouTube channel, is followed by almost one million fans on Instagram and over 300,000 per month on Spotify. He is a popular guest musician, for example on ‘More Than Life’ by Machine Gun Kelly.

Ichika Nito is a prominent representative of the so-called ‘online guitar revolution’. At least that's what his colleague Marty Friedman (ex-Megadeth), who has been living in Japan for years and is also revered there like a hero, called him. Ichika Nito also amazes an audience of millions with his filigree technique; the musician, who was born in Osaka in 1994 and now lives in Tokyo, has fans all over the world. He became famous in a simple way: He uploaded videos of his music, including cover versions, to his YouTube channel, provided them with interesting titles and designed them elaborately. Within a very short time, he reached over a million followers. Why does a young man fascinate so many people? It's simple: his style is unique and often falls into the ‘impossible to play’ category. The specialist magazine ‘Gitarre & Bass’ raves in an article that his repertoire includes ‘fascinating instrumental pieces, sometimes played in hybrid style, sometimes in fingerstyle’. He weaves two-handed tappings, pull-offs and hammer-ons into flowing melody and chord sequences and harmonically highly complex instrumentals.
