Mastodon have been at the forefront of progressive metal for over two decades. With their cross-genre mixture of heavy, psychedelic and sludge metal, the band from Atlanta creates impressive soundscapes that are epic, complex and emotional at the same time. With albums such as Leviathan, Crack The Skye and Emperor of Sand, Mastodon have earned themselves a permanent place in rock history. Their double album Hushed and Grim, released in 2021, shows the band at their most reflective and was celebrated by press and fans alike. The band has received multiple GRAMMY® nominations and won the award for “Best Metal Performance” for Sultan's Curse in 2018. Mastodon are known for their intense live shows, in which they inspire with technical brilliance, polyphonic vocals and enormous dynamics - most recently even as guests of the New York Metropolitan Opera.
