About Messa

MESSA are among the most distinctive voices in modern doom metal. The Italian band combines classic doom, goth rock, and heavy metal with jazzy harmonies and atmospheric expansiveness. Since their formation, MESSA have consistently broken free from genre constraints and developed a sound that is equally dark, elegant, and dynamic.

MESSA gained international attention with their debut on Metal Blade Records. The album The Spin was included in year-end lists worldwide – including Stereogum and Quietus – and marks a decisive step in the band's career. The trade media particularly highlight the stylistic openness and extraordinary voice of singer Sara Bianchin.

MESSA has also earned an outstanding reputation for its live performances. Tours with bands such as Paradise Lost, Amenra, and High on Fire, as well as appearances at renowned festivals, underscore their relevance in the European metal and alternative scene. MESSA stands for cinematic soundscapes, intense dynamics, and a modern interpretation of doom metal that goes far beyond the classic boundaries of the genre.

With each release, MESSA expand their musical spectrum and cement their status as one of the most exciting doom metal bands of the present day.
