US garage rock duo live in Germany for the first time in summer 2024.

Teen Mortgage have announced their first German dates for June 2024. The fuzz punk duo from Washington, D.C., emerged from the city's punk primordial soup in 2017 after guitarist/vocalist James Guile moved to the U.S. capital from Liverpool, U.K., and by a stroke of luck found drummer Ed Barkauskas through a desperate Craigslist ad. As a duo, they distinguished themselves by crossing the aggression of East Coast hardcore and garage/surf sleaze with a good dose of pop sensibility. This sonic blend provided the perfect backdrop for singer and guitarist James Guile to illustrate what he describes as "the absurdity of life in the age of late capitalism and technological feudalism". He adds: "This is even woven into our name, as Mortgage means 'promise of death' in Latin.

Brooklyn, NY-based label King Pizza Records took notice of Teen Mortgage's biting intensity, releasing the duo's 2019 EP "Life/Death" and 2021 EP "Smoked". The songs on the EPs earned Teen Mortgage appearances on Shameless, Vans Park Series and Evil Bikes, as well as support slots for well-known bands such as The Chats, Mike Krol, Bass Drum Of Death, Jeff The Brotherhood and many more.

About Teen Mortgage

Teen Mortgage, known for their wild live shows, drop a sound bomb that leaves no room for apathy, let alone time to catch your breath. Guile's biting riffs and sneering laugh, coupled with Barakauskas' power, have created a new hangout for anyone looking for a place to mosh. On their nationwide DIY headlining tours, audiences freak out like a pack of coyotes on the hunt for prey as soon as the pair kick off the first riff of the set. The band's infectious fuzz, paired with lyrics inspired by Jello Biafra and George Carlin, sends the audience into a frenzy sweating out the hardships of life, once again, in the words of Guile, "the era of late capitalism and tech feudalism."
